BILLARDS CLUB NEWS

A 14-1 Continuous Tournament is scheduled for early October. Hopefully, you

were able to sign up by September 30th. The tournament starts on Monday, October 5 th and continues for 2 weeks. Also, of importance, is the Membership/Awards meeting on October 17 th with the election of the board of directors for the Billiard Club.

Currently, those running are Lewis Kanter for Tournament Chair, Terri Kanter and Kate Pecarovich for Secretary and Nathan Fuxa for Assistant Tournament Chair. As you can see, we need a few more volunteers for three positions: President, Vice President, and Treasurer. Please keep your Billiard Club functioning by volunteering.

Some tables have been resurfaced for this tourney. If you can, drop by the Billiard room for the Wednesday afternoon league. Also, consider coming to the Thursday Night Round Robin at 6 pm. There will probably be a party around the fire pit on the back patio. There is still a need for coordinators to oversee the Social Round Robin night. Contact Kathy Wirtz (818-445-1057) for membership and/or dues.

The billiards room is open every day till 10pm. Feel free to drop by and play or just to visit.

BINGO

BINGO…did I hear someone yell “BINGO”? Yes, you did! BINGO mania continues Wednesday evenings in the Assembly Room (community center). Doors open at 4:45 pm and close for the action at 5:45. The buy-in for all 15 games is only $17.00. The blackout games are close to $500 in payouts. You can also purchase Quickie Tab games for only $1.00 with payouts topping $175. Wow, that sounds like better odds than the lottery! Come join your friends and neighbors. We will provide coffee, tea, and cookies. Feel free to bring your own snacks.

Any questions? Call John Herrera at (805) 419-4195.

NAVIGATING FRONTSTEPS TRAINING SESSION

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13- With all the exciting things happening in Leisure Village, it’s super important that you’re keeping up with the latest info through our primary means of communication, FrontSteps. You’ll learn to access the new Leisure Village website and FrontSteps, plus how to submit a work order, add your name and address to the community directory, and make sure you’re receiving electronic communications from the Administration.

To register for the October session, please send an email with your name, address and telephone number to lvcommunicationscomm@gmail.com. No need to bring your devices, as this will be a presentation and Q&A session. Just bring a pen to take notes, all your questions, and a willingness to learn. These sessions are limited to 45 people, so register early. Sessions usually last for one hour.

RV CLUB

If you like to go camping and you have some sort of “RV”, whether it be a large motorhome or even a small pop-up tent trailer, you might consider joining the Leisure Village RV Club. What do we do, you ask. Well, we are going camping. We plan camping trips pretty much once every month. Not everyone makes it to each trip, but you go when you can. Most of the locations we choose are less than 2 hours away.

When booking a campsite, we often pick camp spots fairly near each other and we get together for meals or just to sit around the campfire and chit chat. It’s a great way to get out of town and hang out with some really nice people. And who knows, you might even make a few good friends.

We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 PM in the MPR, where we discuss upcoming camping trips and reminisce about prior ones-such fun!

For more information, anyone interested can contact Norman Berezowsky, Secretary, at nblvrvclub@gmail.com
