Feeling lucky? Join us at the Community Center in the Assembly Room on any given Wednesday night for Bingo. Come for a fun night out with neighbors and friends for a chance to win up to $450+. Doors open at 4:45 pm and close at 5:45 pm. Games start at 6:00 pm and last until about 9:00 pm. The buy-in for 15 various game styles is still only $17. And we have added two new “Quickie” games for $1.00 each. These have proven to be profitable.
First-time participants will receive a free dauber-just ask. Complimentary cookies, coffee, and tea will be provided; however, you are welcome to bring your own snacks. THE WOMEN’S CLUB
Please plan on joining us for our Summer Picnic on Thursday, September 10th at 12:30 pm in the LV Picnic Area. We will offer hot dogs with all the trimmings in addition to side dishes with ice cream for dessert – Yum!
Picnic tickets need to be purchased in advance and will be sold in the Community Center Lobby 8/24,26,31st and on 9/2 & 9/4 between 10am and noon. Please bring your membership badge when you come to purchase tickets. There is a $5 charge for Women’s Club members and non-members and guests are only $10. No tickets will be sold at the event.

LV VETERAN’S CLUB
We will be meeting Tuesday, September 22nd in the MPR at 1pm.Our speaker will be Jim McHugh of the Ventura County Veterans Services.
The Veteran’s Club will be dark for October, November and December. Our next meeting after September will be Tuesday, January 26th, 2027 and our speaker will be Jim Arthur who had a career with many classified missile systems program.

BILLARD CLUB NEWS
Although the Billiard Club doesn’t have any activities scheduled for September, there was some recent fire pit action after the latest Thursday Night Round Robin in August. Participants made smores around the blaze. Consider dropping by the Billiard Room for the Wednesday afternoon league and come back for the Thursday Night Round Robin at 6:00 pm. There will probably be another party around the fire pit on the back patio. The billiards room is open every day till 10 pm. Feel free to drop by and play or just to visit.

MENS GOLF CLUB NEWS
In this heat please be careful, hydrate and keep a healthy pace of play. Whenever the daytime temperature is 80 degrees or above the board provides free ice cold waters for all Tuesday players. For the non-club players we reserve the course every Tuesday from 8am to 1pm. Nobody is allowed to interrupt our league play.
On September 8 we have our Men’s Golf Quarterly Meeting held in the Pavillion Area starting at 12 pm with lunch from Sharkey’s followed by a one hour meeting. I will be inviting LV Board President Tom Fruchtey, Security Chief Rivas, and somebody from the Gothic Landscape Company.
On August 18 we began selling $15 tickets for our Fall Harvest Golf Tournament and BBQ which is set for Sept 15. It’s a mixed event so the women are very welcome to enjoy the outing. Our Fall Harvest, as previously noted, is a great event as our last mixed event had over 100 people attend. The luncheon will be held in the BBQ area near the pool. Tickets have been on sale every Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 7:30 to 8:30am at the #1 Tee. The last two days of sales are September 1 and 2nd. -Myron Jones LVMGA President.

Save the Date: The Music Club is excited to announce the next tribute band concert. On Sunday,October 18, we will be presenting the band ABBA LA. ABBA LA is a premier Southern California-based tribute band that recreates the iconic music, intricate harmonies, and lush instrumentals of the original Swedish pop group ABBA LA. The ensemble regularly performs at local theaters, casinos, and festivals, featuring massive hits like “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” and “Take a Chance on Me. Tickets went on sale in August. So grab a ticket, or two or three to make sure you have a seat to hear the uplifting tunes from ABBA LA. GRAPES R US
The next tasting is Friday, September 18, and it will feature wines from the Almo Sol winery. John Shaw, the proprietor, will present five Bordeaux style wines, made from estate grapes from Paso Robles. Alma Sol also has a convenient tasting room in TO.
Our tasting sessions are held on the 3rd Friday of the month in the AR. The doors open at 6:30pm, so come early to get a table and be ready for the 7pm start. Bring two glasses and water. The fee for all that evening’s tastings is only $15. Reservations are appreciated.

Last month, the wines for our August Tasting were from California’s Central Coast region, and mostly from the Monterrey area. Jon Niemann led us through five wines: Josh Sauvignon Blanc, Bernardus Chardonnay, Chamisal Pinot Noir, Wrath Pinot Noir, Hearst Ranch Three Sisters Cuvee (a GSM red blend). The highlight of the evening was a side-by-side comparison of the two Pinot Noirs, known as a “beauty contest.” Then Jon asked the group to vote for the Pinot Noir they liked best.
We look forward to seeing everyone, new and old, on Friday, September 18th in the AR room. Cheers!
PLAYERS GUILD
Tuesday, September 8 at 10 am in the Sunroom, directors will present their suggestions to the Players Guild Board of Directors for next year’s big show in April of 2027.
Auditions coming up on Thursday, September 10 at 7 pm in the AR, the directing team of Sandy Curran, Lynn Kremer, and Joyce Belcher will audition potential participants for their upcoming Disney show. Richard will be there so bring your music and show ‘em what you can do.
Second Act by Helene Cohen is scheduled for September on the 17th at 7 pm in the AR. Doors open at 6:30. The comedy reminds the audience of what it takes to stage a musical in a facility devoted to those in their golden retirement days. The original hope was to stage it before our version of South Pacific last April, but saner heads prevailed. The cast of Second Act consists entirely of Ms. Cohen’s Acting Class (which is in its 9th year).
Save the Date: Those wanting to direct a monthly show will present their ideas to the Board on the second Tuesday, October 13 at 10 am in the sunroom.
When the Dancin’s Done…many thanks to all who participated and attended the Players Guild show, “Do You Wanna Dance” last month. The largest cast (so far) of 51 participants danced, sang and entertained the crowd with a well-organized beautifully prepared ensemble. There were a variety of dancers, singers and even ukulele players. Not only did the performers have a good time, but at one point even the entire audience joined in the fun and danced with the cast.
VILLAGE ARTS CLUB
Reminder: ART WALK on Wednesday, September 2nd in the Gazebo Garden from 1-3pm. All villagers are invited to come and stroll around our beautiful Gazebo Garden and enjoy the sights of various artwork by Village Arts members.
